Building Brand Recognition

Hotty Toddy Outfitters is an online retail store that sells caps for fans of the University of Mississippi Rebels. After achieving success in selling their products on Amazon, Hotty Toddy Outfitters came to us to create an eCommerce website that would showcase the brand. They chose Hotty Toddy Outfitters because of the famous Ole Miss cheer.

The logotype that we selected is a tribute to the Ole Miss Logo. It features the silhouette of the Ole Miss mascot colonel reb and a script font in the official colors of the university. Since creation of the logo, fans have been instantly drawn to it, the logo even adorns the front and back of their signature hats.

The colors for the site are directly drawn from the red, white and blue colors of the university. We chose blue #00205b, red #c8102e, and solid white as the main palette, along with a gray colored texture pattern for the footer of the site. Additionally, we also took high-quality product images to be included on the site–both as product photos and for use in advertisements.

For the online store, we used the WooCommerce eCommerce plugin for WordPress as the platform for setting up all aspects of the store–including Stripe and PayPal payment gateways, inventory management, and order fulfillment. This allows for a complete view of the customer purchasing process.

Lastly, since the e-commerce is so competitive in nature, we focused on many forms of SEO AND SEM, including Pinterest ads, Facebook ads, Google Shopping ads and pay-per-click search advertisements. Using these in conjunction with each other helped with building brand recognition and attracting new customers.
