Our Work → Lumberjack Hats

Lumberjack Hats is an online retail store that sells caps for fans of the Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjacks. They came to us to make a complete identity that would ensure success of their brand. They chose Lumberjack Hats because of the ties to both Nacogdoches, East Texas, and of course, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.

The logotype that we selected is a tribute to the piney woods–in fact, we ended up calling it the “Piney Woods logo”. It features three pine tree silhouettes that contain offsets of the official alternate colors of the university. Since creation of the logo, fans have been instantly drawn to it, with initial sales volumes that are sky high.

The colors for the site are directly drawn from the purple and white colors of the university. We chose purple #360368 and solid white as the main palette, along with a gray colored texture pattern for the footer of the site. Additionally, we also took high-quality product images to be included on the site–both as product photos and as promotional collateral.

For the online store, we used the WooCommerce e-commerce plugin for WordPress as the platform for setting up all aspects of the store–including payment gateways, inventory management, and order fulfillment. This allows for a 360° view of the customer purchasing process.

Lastly, because of the competitive nature of the e-commerce world, we dove heavily into all forms of SEO AND SEM, including social media marketing, pay-per-click, and retargeting. Using these in conjunction with each other helped tremendously with customer acquisition and retention.
